Privacy policy
Published by TziraH. Applies to the Svan app (package app.svan, version 0.5.16-b) and to this website. Effective date: 20 October 2026.
In plain words
- The app processes your audio on your phone and never uploads it.
- The app has no accounts and no developer server.
- This website keeps one thing, and only if you ask for it: your Gmail address, when you take a tester seat or join the waitlist.
- I never sell or share it. You can ask me to delete it at any time.
The Svan app
Svan processes audio locally on your Android device. The app does not upload, store as audio files, or send captured playback to a server. Engine B uses Android's playback-capture permission and a foreground notification; Android asks for permission for each new capture session. Stop it from Hi-Fi or the system capture controls. Svan does not intentionally capture microphone input; RECORD_AUDIO is Android's required permission for playback capture and the audio measurement probes.
When you search or select headphone tuning, Svan downloads AutoEq measurement, index and target files from GitHub. Those requests expose ordinary network metadata (including your IP address) to GitHub and its delivery infrastructure. Imported curve files are read only when you choose them through Android's file picker. EQ settings, presets, compatibility verdicts, routing preferences and cached tuning data are stored in the app's local storage.
Diagnostic logs can include player package names, session identifiers and measured levels. The app does not automatically send these logs. Share logs or screenshots only if you choose to do so. There is no advertising or analytics SDK in the current dependency list. Uninstalling the app removes its local data.
Optional enhanced detection uses the Shizuku API after user approval. A read-only UserService runs as Android shell and reads only the fixed audio and media.audio_flinger reports. It accepts no arbitrary shell commands, paths, target packages or permission grants. Reads have byte/time limits; audio reports stay local. Only if the user taps "Keep enhanced detection without Shizuku" does Svan, while Shizuku is connected, run the one package-manager command grant app.svan android.permission.DUMP (the same as adb shell pm grant), for itself and that one permission only, so Shizuku can be uninstalled. Svan still reads only the two fixed audio reports. Uninstalling Svan removes the grant. Existing/manual DUMP grants remain supported. Shell detection needs Shizuku running and may need restarting after a phone reboot. Stopping Shizuku leaves basic player-session broadcast detection active. Setup links open Shizuku's official website in the user's browser. The Shizuku API is MIT licensed; its notice is included in assets.
Notification-access player recognition has been removed. This build declares no notification listener and requests no access to other apps' notifications, SMS or accessibility services. POST_NOTIFICATIONS allows Svan to show its own notifications. Session broadcasts and the fixed audio reports described above provide detection. Recognition does not prove that an output path accepts effects or playback capture.
This policy applies to Svan version 0.5.16-b (package app.svan), published by TziraH. Effective date: 20 October 2026.
Headphone calibration and settings export
Imported calibration curves and their hashes are stored privately for re-tuning. Published AutoEq data are fetched using the existing network path; preferences are never sent. Svan cannot record, clip or export captured playback, and captured audio is never saved. The Lab can save a generated 20-second measurement WAV that contains no music; release checks use synthetic test signals only.
Settings export writes EQ, presets, Svaresa/audio preferences and active calibration curves only to a file you choose. The file may identify your headphone. It contains no audio, Android permissions or signing keys. Restore validates it locally without uploading it.
Apps Svan never touches
Svan never processes, captures, lists or routes audio from messaging and calling apps, social video apps, ride and delivery apps, payment apps, voice assistants, recorders, cameras, the phone app or system apps. This list is fixed in the app and applies to every app sharing the same Android user id. Music and video platforms such as YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music and Gaana stay supported. Svan does not apply its EQ to the phone's whole output mix unless a test build turns that on, and never during a call.
Optional floating controls and diagnostic detail
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW is used only for the optional Svaramanas bubble. It is not needed for in-app controls and is not enabled automatically. You can disable the bubble or revoke overlay access. Diagnostic reports can additionally include phone/build details and output-device names and addresses; review and redact a report before sharing it. Posting a report in a public GitHub issue makes it visible to others. Files exported outside Svan are not deleted by uninstalling it.
This website and the tester download
This website is a set of static pages plus a small server-side part that runs only on the tester download page (/tester/). Browsing the rest of the site stores nothing about you: it sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
If you choose Sign in with Google, you leave this site for Google's sign-in page. I ask Google for two things only: your email address and whether Google has verified it (the openid and email permissions). Google gives me the address and a Google account ID. I do not receive your name, photo, contacts or password.
The tester APK is for Gmail addresses (gmail.com). It has 30 seats, one for each Gmail address. Gmail ignores dots and anything after a plus sign, so a.b+x@gmail.com and ab@gmail.com are the same address and share one seat.
What I keep:
- If you take a tester seat: your Gmail address, Google's ID for that account, the time you took the seat, how many times you downloaded the file and when you last did. I use it to give you one seat, to keep to the 30-seat limit, to let you download again, and to write to you about the test.
- If you join the waitlist: your Gmail address, Google's account ID and the time. I use it only to write to you once, if more seats open.
- Totals with no names: how many people started sign-in, took seats, joined the waitlist or downloaded. These identify nobody. I use them to see whether there is demand.
Short-lived records: the sign-in step keeps a random code (not your address) for ten minutes. Download and waitlist links expire after fifteen minutes.
What I do not do: I do not sell or share your address, use it for advertising, or put it on any mailing list. The waitlist message is a single notice. I do not store IP addresses in my records. Google and Cloudflare (below) do handle ordinary network information such as your IP address when they deliver the sign-in page and this site.
Your choice: signing in or joining the waitlist is optional and is your consent to the above. If you do not sign in, I hold nothing about you.
Who else handles data
- Google: runs the sign-in. Its own privacy policy applies to that step.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and the database and storage that hold the records above. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request details to deliver pages.
- GitHub: the app downloads published headphone measurement files from GitHub when you search for headphone tuning (see the app section).
No other recipients. No advertising or analytics providers.
How long I keep it, and deleting it
- Tester seat records: kept while the tester program runs and deleted within 30 days after it ends.
- Waitlist records: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Support emails you send me: used only to look into your problem, kept only until it is resolved, then deleted.
To have your seat or waitlist record deleted sooner, write to harizisclean@gmail.com from that Gmail address. Deleting a seat frees it. The APK you already installed stays on your phone and keeps working. Uninstalling the app removes its local data. Files you exported yourself are not deleted by uninstalling it.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Effective 20 October 2026: the website and tester download section was added.
